President’s Corner April 2018

Greetings fellow Skalleagues

Young SKAL and the Epicurean... now that is Skal Tampa Bay at its finest! It was great to see so many of our members at our April dinner. We raised $2,800.00 to support our young Skalleagues by offering discounted meals and membership costs and covering travel expenses for our annual North American Skal Congress to our rising tourism industry stars. It's symbiotic- young Skals connect with elite high-level tourism executives, while our "experienced" executives are refreshed by these forward thinking future executives.

Be sure to invite your qualified guests to our May dinner hosted at Bon Appetit on Monday, May 14, and if they can't make that meeting, we have more exciting events around the corner!

On a personal and sad note I said goodbye to my father, Claude, on April 24. He was my number one fan and our family will miss him dearly. He was surrounded by our family and we know he is with my mother looking down on us.

Collecting items for our Monthly Raffle

The extra raffle items graciously donated by many of you have been great incentives for our members to participate. We have had some fantastic "extra opportunity drawing" items. THANK YOU!!

We are collecting more items for upcoming meetings. We will be mindful of any time sensitive or restricted items but please try to put an expiration date of at least December 31, 2018 on any certificate.

This entire year we are adding additional prizes to our monthly drawings to garner more excitement and showcase our members. If you would like to donate items for the upcoming dinners or annual holiday auction, please email me and let me know what you will be donating and then mail the certificate, gift card, etc. to the following address:
