President’s Corner November 2017

Our November Salute to Tourism event at the Tampa Convention Center was a huge success with over 70 guests and excellent reviews on the format, service, food and beverage offerings. I believe we have a model we can sustain for the next few years as we have many worthy individuals in our area and club to honor. Many thanks to Rick Hamilton, Eric Blanc, and Doug Horn for making it happen.  Thank you and congratulations again to our first time honorees….George Hoch, Dan Peretz, Rick Hamilton as well as David Downing, Santiago Corrada and Ken Lawson.

Next up will be our December meeting at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre on Mon. 12/18 where we do our annual auction and wine pull. This evening is one of our favorites (with guests and spouses also) as you would have to work real hard to go home empty handed! Also, we will be presenting our board of directors roster for 2018 at the meeting. Thank you in advance for the board members past and present who continue to contribute their time to making our club successful. Special thanks to Steven Rodriguez, our Executive Secretary, who….like all past presidents before me said….is the fuel in our engine! We would get nowhere without him.

A big shout out to Hoyt Hamilton (Past President) who is the proud owner of a new hip socket just in time for the holidays. Seriously, we hope all is well and we see you again at our meetings very soon!

Collecting items for our Monthly Raffle

The extra raffle items graciously donated by many of you have been great incentives for our members to participate. We have had some fantastic "extra opportunity drawing" items. THANK YOU!!

We are collecting more items for upcoming meetings AND for Young SKAL fundraisers. We will be mindful of any time sensitive or restricted items but please try to put an expiration date of at least December 31, 2018 on any certificate.

This entire year we are adding additional prizes to our monthly drawings to garner more excitement and showcase our members. If you would like to donate items for the upcoming dinners or annual holiday auction, please email me and let me know what you will be donating and then mail the certificate, gift card, etc. to the following address:
