President’s Corner February 2018
Greetings fellow Skalleagues
I'm certain that we have all been in an experience that may have missed the mark. What makes the difference isn't the experience itself but how it’s handled afterward. Following the outstanding dinner hosted by George Bentley and his team at the Tradewinds is no easy act to follow. When Le Meridien did not hit the mark, we spoke with management and I'm pleased to share that they were quick to respond and acknowledge their missteps. They made things right by offering a lower cost which we are using to offer a partial credit towards our February guests' future dinner and our November Salute to Tourism guests. That’s the professional way! We do appreciate that they hosted our group.
Young SKAL needs your help! Please let Raisa know that you will be providing a silent auction item, basket, or monetary donation by March 30th by emailing her ralstodt@gmail.com. We’re looking forward to the April 9th fundraiser dinner at the Epicurean!
On a sad note, we send our condolences to Tampa Bay SKAL member, Lisa Faller with FKQ Advertising who’s father passed away. We also lost longtime member, Cedar Hames of Paradise Advertising.

Collecting items for our Monthly Raffle
The extra raffle items graciously donated by many of you have been great incentives for our members to participate. We have had some fantastic "extra opportunity drawing" items. THANK YOU!!
We are collecting more items for upcoming meetings. We will be mindful of any time sensitive or restricted items but please try to put an expiration date of at least December 31, 2018 on any certificate.
This entire year we are adding additional prizes to our monthly drawings to garner more excitement and showcase our members. If you would like to donate items for the upcoming dinners or annual holiday auction, please email me and let me know what you will be donating and then mail the certificate, gift card, etc. to the following address:
